Gregory Dunn(UK)
I feel honoured to have spent three months on the residency in magical Mino. The privilege of living with a generous host family, working within a welcoming community and producing Mino Washi had a profound influence upon my artistic practice and my life. The meditative act of making paper became inseparable from the seasons and the surrounding scenery; as a consequence, I formed a deep and lasting relationship with the Japanese landscape. This immutable connection has been indelibly imprinted upon my being and I still draw strength from its influence everyday. Thank you Mino.

Since I left Mino it comes to my mind everyday somehow. This experience was one of the greatest
things happened to me. It was an honour to live in a totally different culture with such an openhearted
family, supported by a warm and neat volunteer team, to learn about washi paper and
especially to work with this amazing material. The program gave me a lot spiritually and
professionally. I’m really thankful for this opportunity.

In 2012 I spent three beautiful months in Mino Paper Village. I never been in Japan before and I feel myself very lucky because I had a chance to participate on this AIR and my dreams come true. I still miss my host family and the volunteers of the program. I was learning lot from the Japanese culture and of course the Mino Washi Paper. I still use in my work the inspiration and knowledge what I learned there. I hope one day have a chance to go back again.
