Zoe Howard(UK)
The three months I spent in Mino were fantastic and I really loved my time there. All the people I met were incredibly welcoming and so kind, especially my host family, the Takahashi’s, and everyone at the Culture Hall. Mino is a beautiful place and I miss cycling along the river to the studio each day. Learning how to make Japanese paper using the traditional method and then using this within my own work was a great experience. I really hope I can return to Mino in the future as I miss it a lot!

Leaving and working in Mino is an experience I treasure deeply. The luminous autumn ginkgo trees, the bicycle ride to the studio, the gorgeous streets are engraved in my memory.
Everyone in Mino is so lovely, helpful, and generous. The Watanabes are a beautiful family, and I am deeply grateful for all their kindness and generosity. I am very happy I was honored to participate in the Mino Paper Art Residency Program, where I was able to learn so much about Japanese culture and techniques later and to, later on, apply them to my work.
