Liat Livni(Israel)
My stay in the peaceful city of Mino has definitely been an inspiring and influential art experience. Mino has the most amazing papers I’ve ever seen.
I was lucky to be a part of a generous family. I‘ll never forget Sanae’s great cooking.
During my stay, I felt like a celebrity, appearing in newspapers and having Takeshi as a personal photographer. I had the honor of studying crafts from Haba San, riding a bike for the first time at the age of 28(!), awsome taste and 5 more kilograms…

In Mino I was very lucky to stay with an inviting and lovely family. Much thanks still to Makoto and Takako for everything! The town itself initially seemed small but as time passed each distinct part revealed more places to think, draw and sing very badly. I remember eating large, lunch bentos and also refusing a bowl of crickets with my evening beer.
Aleksandra Janik(Poland)
The stay in Mino changed me. I am endlessly grateful to all of you who made the visit possible and especially to my ‘Japanese parents’ (I used to think of them in this way) Mrs and Mr Watanabe. They let me experience the Japan which a tourist will never taste. Quite simply, I became a member of their family for these three months. I could feel it.
On the other hand, I had to go to Japan in order to understand where I come from and what is the origin of my identity. Since then I pose this question through my art work very often – how geographic relocations influence artists and whether it helps the artist to go beyond the fixed categories of his/her own identity: physical, psychical, social or cultural?

Jane Clowes(England)
It is difficult to some up in such a short space all the memories that I have from my time in Mino in 2007. From the moment I arrived in Mino, I felt part of something very special. The hospitality and generosity of the people of Mino was breath taking. Nothing was too much trouble to organize and everything was done with kindness and efficiency. Whilst in Mino I was made to feel part of the community and welcomed into every aspect of people’s lives, including attending a singing concert, yoga and aerobic classes and even a wedding!
